CALL IT A COME BACK!
The surviving members of The Monkees |
Since The Monkees celebrated their 20th Anniversary in the 1980's; Mickey Dolenz, Peter Tork and Davy Jones have been touring together as The Monkees doing their classic material and even releasing some new music.
For most of that time The Monkees have been without Mike Nesmith who expressed a level of discomfort even at the height of Monkee Mania in the sixties. At one point the American made for TV band had even out sold The Beatles.
However, by the time The Monkees had celebrated their 20th Anniversary , Nesmith was a pioneer in the world of music video as the mind behind the classic long form video Elephant Parts.
To make a decades long story shorter, Mike never said anything negative about the members of the band but made it clear that he was not up for taking the stage and "getting the band back together." Until Now.

I wasn't around when Last Train To Clarksville and Day Dream Believer originally charted, but I will try and get good seats for this one.
