Dear Mr. President, Republicans and Democrats in Washington, DC.
I would like to speak candidly to you and to my fellow Americans.
1. You will never read this because money is your God, religion, job, career path and the only thing you hear.
The truth of the matter is that this letter is more for my fellow Americans than anyone in DC.
The truth is because of lobbies, NONE of America's elected officials in DC listen to anyone until hundreds of thousands of dollars are CONTRIBUTED to that official's campaign.
2. I don't like Bullies.
I do not like bullies. I do however, respect The Republican party for consistently doubling down , even tripling down on bad ideas. My definition of a bad idea is anything that penalizes other Americans because they are poor, powerless, un educated, old, young or deemed by those in power to be weak.
I believe it takes ABSOLUTELY NO CHARACTER at all to prey upon someone that can not defend themselves.
The TRUE measure of GREATNESS is to HELP SOME ONE do better.
My honest estimation of MOST republicans is that they feel. "The weak are here for us to dominate" I also feel that Republicans are people that feel most alive when they can ensure that other people are suffering , and they object to "other" people having as much as them.
I am basing this on the way you vote, and things that I hear and read from other Republicans.
I will end this segment by saying I believe MOST of your party to be biggotted, anti black, anti poor and pro prison.
I fully expect a lot of name calling and emotional responses that will not address the core issues I have raised.
3. I really dislike PUNKS.
At least with BULLIES I Know where I stand.
The last democrat I saw in WASHINGTON WITH AN OUNCE of back bone with the late Senator Ted Kennedy.
The Republican Party fights for what they believe in and the democrats run, hide, apologize, give in, give up but never stand up and never fight.
I expect you to stand up to me...but to continue to make excuses for why the Republican party no longer has to win elections to run the country.
4. Was Cynthia McKinney the last person in DC willing to FIGHT for People?
Really?
Where is the party that will stand up to The NRA and tell the truth about guns?
Where is the party that will admit America should have single payer health care?
Where is the party that will say, we need to tax big business more,so that we can get our educational system back?
Where is the party that will say AMERICA IMPRISONS more people than any other "civilized" country and several "communist countries?"
Where is the party that believes war should not be started for gas, for profit or while we have record numbers of people poor and starving here in America?
5. Dear Mr. President,
You have done a lot of things on a personal level I love and respect.
I cannot thank you enough for the personal checks you have written to help other Americans. THAT IS MAJOR.
However, the people of this country voted you in to make real CHANGE.
Why do you continue to run and want to compromise on FIGHTS YOU HAVE ALREADY WON?
(GUN CONTROL, HEALTH CARE)
The Government should have never gone through sequestration or shut down on your watch.
All you need is a pen to sign executive orders.
Mr. Bush signed twice as many Executive Orders into law as the next President.
The American People that voted you in, need you to step up and GOVERN.
6. Vote with your money
My fellow Americans. Until we start to vote with our money. Washington will NEVER listen to how we vote on ELECTION DAY, the current government shut down is proof.
We will get a lot further investigating the politics of the people we do business with, and investing in education.
I know many of my fellow Black Americans have a love affair with election day and the ballot box.
I believe it's time to grow up a little past that and realize it's 2013 and not 1963.
Washington no longer cares about your vote past getting elected and they will promise you flying , polka dot candy zebras for your vote because they know after the vote is counted they don't have to do anything else except campaign for the next election.
Washington cares about money and who can give them the most....
You can evoke Dr. King and all dead civil right leaders you wish but this is where we are today.
No need to mention the living civil rights leaders because Black people no longer respect any civil rights leader that has not been killed.
7. DEAR AMERICAN PEOPLE.
PLEASE WAKE.
Sincerely,
Raymond Tyler
